For your information please find below:
1. Suggested speed hump application form,
2. Recently passed resolution,
3. Drawing of a speed hump including required markings and signage and
4. Aerial of Lakeside Key Pz 1 and possible hump locations.
Based on the resolution requirements, one speed hump on each street would be suitable for these portions of roadway. Generally we would place the hump closest to the center of the block to effect calming equally in both directions. I’ve placed them where it appears there is sufficient length as they cannot be in front of a driveway or on top of a manhole.
Please note that that each speed hump is required to have 4 signs which will be installed in the swale area.
Speed humps shall be considered only for a straight-line section of the road with a minimum length of one thousand feet (1000’), and which is without any other regulatory device (e.g., stop sign, yield sign) or traffic-calming device.
Also speed humps shall be spaced a minimum of five hundred feet (500’) apart and at least two hundred feet (200’) away from intersections.
Based on the new resolution we currently have sufficient resident’s signatures for SW 99th Ave. Anthony Pacheco previously submitted this application. This stretch of roadway is shorter than the 1000 feet required so commission action would be required to waive this requirement as was done for the Lakeside Key Pz 2 speed humps.
As all roadways are less than 1000 feet so Commission action would be required for all of the locations shown on the attached map.
Below is info on needed signatures for each section of roadway.
SW 9 Ct - 29 residents with addresses on 9 Ct therefore required signatures is 15.
SW 11 St - 22 residents with addresses on 11 St therefore required signatures is 12.
